Reserves not Assigning?

Reserves are not filled by the standard Nightly processes--instead, they are filled as soon as a copy is checked in. Usually, this works as intended to get your Reserves filled fast!

However, to ensure that no reserves fall through the cracks, there is a special "double-check" program that runs just before Nightly, which checks every outstanding Reserve to see if there are any copies available.

This double-check works off a list of "Shared Media" in your Nightly settings. If this list was never updated to include DB, the double-check might not be finding those stray Reserves!

Most of the time, Reserves will still be served correctly as copies are checked in and immediately assigned, however, a few titles may have outstanding Reserves! Check your settings (or ask us to take a look for you) to ensure that your Shared Media includes includes DB. The list is stored in the Nightly Run Configuration – Control Values screen in the field labeled Shared Media.

As with all Admin settings, if you aren't completely comfortable updating this setting, contact Customer Support and let us do it for you.
