Did you know that you can generate a random sample of patrons? If you're wanting to send out a survey, do some randomized follow-up calls, or spot check a selection of patron profiles to make sure your standards and policies are being met, here's how:
Do a query for the type of patrons you want a sample of. This can be as general or specific as you need: consider patron type, status, and date registered for starters.
Select any patron from the query results to open the set in the Patron window.
From the functions menu, select Labels. Change the radio button to select "Random Sample" and fill in the desired sample size.
Select the desired labels stock and printer. If you aren't using the sample for a mailing, you can select a PDF printer (such as "Microsoft print to PDF") to generate a file instead.
Press OK. A random sample will be selected from the query set and output as labels.
